That nVidia thing really is horrific, isn't it?

I'm not a fan of regular Steam even as a program, even though it is a decent portal for buying digital content, so have zero interest in the Steambox console.

Yizzur. And it's made me look forward to em even more. I've a feeling I'll be getting a microconsole before I make the switch to next gen Xbox.

a console is merely a simplified computer whose job is to interpret joypad input and render results on a screen.

This is one of the worst things I've ever heard.

That was pretty interesting, and made me learn more about the Ouya. I am kinda interested in it now. :D

I honestly have no idea how the steambox will work.
If it's just going to run steams libary of games, isn't it just as worth while to buy a decent computer instead? and enjoy all the extra things a computer can do? I feel like I'm missing something here.

Also that Nvidia thing looks awful. The only microconsole I'm possibly interested in is the oculus rift. I think the idea of virtual reality is pretty damn cool.

Steam has never worked for me. Not in 2008 or in 2012 so to me Steam is a steaming pile of shit so would never support them again. They still owe me 100$ in games.

You must have been downloading them wrong? :???:
I don't like the program much, but it does open up and close down and play games exactly as it should, albeit a bit slowly (though there is probably some fault on my part at using a now pretty old laptop and with a not-great broadband connection that makes it so clunky). Its functionality is actually one of its good points for me, since they're booted from Steam rather than with some old games, having to mess about with DOSboxes etc...

I disagree. They have a massive libary of games with regular sales that are quick and easy to buy. I love physically owning copies of my games, but if i want to buy and play something quickly, it's a great alternative.

The only time steam was bad was when it first came out.

Disagree all you want but they ripped me off and that's fact. I didn't do anything wrong. I had it in 2008 was working for a few months then one day would log me out every 30 sec then when my HDD crashed got a new one had DRM on the games and would not let me re download. Still logged me out every 30 sec. So I quit. Last year I decided to give it a second chance. Once again would not let me download anything and had no record of the games I bought in 2008. Steam for me as I said before is a steaming pile of shit. Shame as I fucking loved Portal even have the damn shower curtain I'm such a nerd. Just steam failed me hard and I'm never going back unless gabe rolls his beach ball ass down to my door hands me 100$ and this steam box...oh and it's old but still funny

That picture is the JPEG equivalent of Charlie Sheen. Just full of pure win.

I've only played one game on Steam thus far, so I was slightly alarmed when I started it up and was informed that my computer was "Preparing to launch To the Moon..."
