This is coming from someone who's never filmed anything worth a damn (so I know my opinion isn't exactly valuable), but I'd say go digital. It's early in your career. There's an added charm to using actual film stock, but it kind of seems like one of those luxuries someone a little more seasoned gets to mess with. I'd say at this point, the option that affords the most versatility and ease-of-use would be wisest. Just how it seems to me.

Yeah I know, it seems like the obvious no-brainer since it's really cost effective. It's just that everytime I see a test of applying post effects with digital footage:

It always gets blown away by the real thing:

Both clips look good but I like the look of the real thing a little better. I don't want people to be thinking about how we achieved the look, I want them to be immersed by the content itself.

Sinister used real Super 8mm and it really helped me get into it whereas XMEN:DOFP used mock Super 8mm and I kept getting distracted by it since I was like "is that real film or not?" I guess I'm at the point where I prefer to invest a little more to make something totally impressive rather than save a ton of money and make something mediocre.

If Sega said you have two options, first option, "We make Dreamcast 2, but no Shenmue III or Shenmue III no Dreamcast 2" which would you choose?

Shenmue 3.
We don't need another console showing up and spectacularly failing. I'll take the game.

A Dreamcast without Shenmue is like Melvin without the Bluenotes.

Sad thing about that is even I found the second half of that funny.

Men are stereotyped to be the 'stronger' sex so if something like that happens, we find it funny rather than reach out to help.

I lol'ed pretty hard because its true the chances of someone stopping that is slim to none. Most people would slow down and get a good laugh before moving on.

The thing is a guy that size could easily get out of that situation with that woman on his own. The woman would have a problem doing that without getting badly injured so it makes sense that someone would step in. Anyone who see that from the start really wouldn't have a problem if that guy pushed her back to defend himself. I think woman beaters are some of the lowest scum on earth but if a woman started doing that to me I'd defend myself.

Although I remember seeing a documentary on TV about men who had been in abusive relationships. Every single guy in it was a 6ft skin head who looked like a bouncer at a nightclub while every woman was tiny and would struggle to lift a pillow. Stepping in during an argument in the street won't help guys like that as it's just not in their nature to defend themselves. I know plenty of people who like to act bertie big bollocks but the moment a sign of trouble comes along from anyone no matter how big or small they go into hiding like when a tortoise goes into his shell.

^Problem is he'll be seen as aggressive and people will stand up for the woman because women are seen as "frail" by comparison.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I was walking by a club when a woman started attacking this lad, he grabbed her by the wrists to help restrain her, the police were there in a flash, he let go of her, they had him on the ground and handcuffed instantly while another officer took her statement...

I'm sure it would have been sorted out either way but I walked over and explained what I saw anyway.

This is a bit disturbing. What a wonderful and helpful new technology that could significantly lower power consumption costs, and just make the world a cleaner better place, but apparently the profit loss is too high. Oil company executive heads are rolling.
