As a kid, I'd see those health advisory warnings before video games and couldn't fathom how anyone could get sick from that.

As an adult, I've since discovered that I'm the type of person who gets nauseous or queasy when playing certain video games. I blame game developers for adding motion blur to everything for "realism".

Motion blur, in my opinion, is disgusting and only inhibits my experience. Maybe if it was done really well I wouldn't mind it, but often times it seems like they just throw it in there because they think it's obligatory and they end up doing nothing to refine it.

I remember one Christmas I got Porsche Challenge for my PS1 (so like, a LONG time ago!    ), I went to play it after I'd obligatorily scoffed all the chocolate coins. Within about an hour, I was literally hanging out the window breathing in the cold outdoors air to try to stop myself from shouting chunks. I didn't spew, but it was seriously way close. I do get motion sickness as a passenger in vehicles though, which I think gave me a disadvantage. I can't really remember any other driving games doing that, though a few FPSs have.

So the new dashboard UI is out for XBO and its a big improvement. Things are easier to get to. It looks better and is abit faster..
But still after a few days with it ive found frequent random slow downs, loading failures and other little quirks. I'm sure it'll get there eventually though.
In the end, I still prefer the PS4 UI. Always pretty stable, fast and easy to understand.

I saw it earlier on Yahoo too lol. The title was something like "There's only so much time in the day: Pornhub loses traffic to Fallout 4" I couldn't stop laughing.

Ok so despite some of my complaints im actually getting a big high off of Xbox One recently. The new UI, Halo 5, EA access and now to top it off I just tried out the Xbox streaming mode from my Sony Vaio running Windows 10 to the Xbox One.

The Xbox streaming to PC is abso-fucking-lutely AMAZING. I'm noticing hardly a milisecond of input lag. Virtually a strait mirror of the Xbox strait to my laptop monitor completely seemless and so far after hours of playing VERY reliable.
Huge game changer.. now the missus can use the TV whenever she wants and I wont feel bad for hogging it.

It means I can take the laptop and controller into any room of the house and continue playing right away by just plugging the XBO controller in via USB.
My laptop display is also 1080p and color accurate so im loosing nothing at all.
Honestly I came into testing it thinking it was gonna be a slow lagging mess and am just completely floored at how great it is.
I tested it in the farthest room from the Xbox and it made no difference. Rock fucking solid as if I had the XBO hooked right into the laptop.
I can plug headphones into the laptop, headset in the controller and chat, play online competative and actually still get all the same kills as normal.

Actually considering playing ALOT more XBone now. Was going to get Star Wars Battlefront on PS4, but now getting it on XBO instead just because of this screen mirroring stream feature.
Bravo Microsoft. They are doing a brilliant job this holiday.

Haha yeah, it is pretty impressive isn't it? :D

I also went into it expecting it to be a bit shit and slow since I'd expect there to be a lot of wifi bandwidth used transmitting a 1080p signal, but nope, I too was amazed at how slick it was!

Does fallout 4 live up to the hype? Despite seeing people talk about how amazing it will be I havent seen anyone talk about how amazing it is yet.

As someone who played the hell out of 3 and New Vegas, everything I've seen of 4 honestly just looks like more of the same. Sure, there seem to be some major additions (like being able to put together your own base and all that), but the basic gameplay looks almost exactly the same. I watched a clip of gameplay earlier, and for whatever reason my internet connection slowed down and youtube reverted the quality to 360p... and watching any of it like that, I seriously couldn't even tell that I wasn't just watching more of 3 or New Vegas.
The whole thing kind of made me go "eh" to it. I'm sure it's good regardless (it's not like being similar to the previous games is a bad thing; they were great), but I'm personally not going to get too excited for anything particularly "fresh" whenever I finally get around to playing it.

Yep, I certainly think so. The gun play (when not using VATS) has been improved a lot. Really enjoying modding weapons and building my base. Its fun to lead raiders to it and watch my turrets tear them to pieces. The world has a lot more detail than Fallout 3 or New Vegas had, which is to be expected with 360/PS3 limitations out of the way. Some of the side quests rival main story quests from previous games. All in all a worthy purchase for sure.

Totally random thing here, but I was just watching a little bit of gameplay for the new Star Wars Battlefront, and the weirdest thing made me cringe a bit: the fact that enemy bodies just disappear. You kill a guy, his body lays there for a bit, then it disappears a few seconds later.
It's totally just spoiled gamer stuff, I know, but that felt like kind of an ugly immersion-killer to me. And I guess I never really thought about it before, but I hate that sort of thing in any game.

Another thing I took away from watching the same video: I hate pre-recorded videos in games. I mean, it's one thing if it's done in a totally different style from the game itself (like a cel-animated clip), but if you're going to do something with 3D graphics, why not just render it in-game? We're up to such a point in technology where, really, almost no game has any excuse to be using pre-recorded cutscenes, unless the content is just waaay too big and actionous to do it smoothly in-game. I remember Hitman Absolution pre-recorded its videos, for example, and it always took you a bit out of the game any time more story would pop up. The new Star Wars game seems to do the same thing, and it's for piddly shit, like characters reaching a bunker or whatever. No excuse for that.

I have basically given up on trying to obtain a Wii U in time for the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles X, im still buying Special Edition for my collection and to play later however. I thought about alot of things, Nintendos stance at the moment, the price, the bundles, my personal situation right now (I'm in debt from my doctor bills, remaining debt on my old car which is totaled AND im trying to buy a brand new car at some point, soon, I hope... and im putting some of that on hold so I can enjoy the remainder of the year, but still im mostly saving almost everything I am earning right now).

Something had to get cut and I am already aggrevated with Nintendo and their poor handling of the Wii U, the lack of a price drop, the damn things expensive ass controller. The weird releases of the console versions and bundles, it took me a while to realize Nintendo doesnt even offer a set that includes JUST the Wii U system right now. I dont like how some of the bundles come with pre-installed games and not physical copies, its like everything they can do to save themselves a buck, while screwing over their customers because they made poor decisions with the Wii U.

Now just isnt the time to purchase Wii U. And with the NX on the horizon I ask myself how much more expensive will the NX be than the Wii U is right now? $100-$150 max? I would rather gamble with their next console honestly, than spend that much on a Wii U right now.

Whats honestly really killing me is just one game. ONE GAME. XBCX is going to really hit me where it counts that I will be missing this launch. I dont feel right not having it not being able to play it, Xeno is one of my top 5 games series, my most anticipated game of the year. I NEED to be playing this on launch, I truly do, But I cant find a justifiable reason to purchase a $250-$350 console for more or less 4 or 5 games in my current financial situation. I hope to hear good news about the NX or a Wii U price drop in the near future. I cant believe I will be missing this, but I dont see a away to pay for the console right now. I am gravely disappointed but unforseen things coming up has seemed to be the highlight of this year for me and that trend continues... *sigh*
