Have you given up or still hopeful?

Have you given up on the idea of the series concluding or still have hope it will eventually finish?


I used to believe then I went for years thinking there is no hope. Now last few years seeing surprises I thought would never happen my stance has changed somewhat. I am at a stage where I won;t leave anything out but not counting on it. Why I join the tweetathon every month. Pre-ordered the statue and such. I think stranger things have happened and believe there is always a chance even if slim. Ys might be my fave series but Shenmue still has a special place for me and 1 of 3 series I love ending on a cliffhanger not to get the 3rd game. I would like to see one of them finish and out of them all Shenmue probably the most.

I have no faith in Sega's intentions - left to their own devices I believe the game will never be made. But if I didn't think we could still change their minds with the right kind of pressure, I wouldn't be spending my time on the campaign. So I guess you can call that hope, but it's hope that's every bit as reliant on the fanbase as it is on Sega.

I believe the official story will be concluded in some form. Sometimes I expect to see a Chinese or some other Asian country that's not Japan live action film or series of the story pop up.

I've been wrong about a lot of things in my life.. But i'm sure that Shenmue will see the light of day. It's too good of a damn story to just throw away. With these Next gen consoles there are no excuses why it shouldn't be great either, Hell port it to dreamcast and it will still be magic. I believe Yu-San wants to make it happen, I really do. Sega just hasnt made up their mind to put in production or maybe it is secretly in production who knows.. Shenmue will have its chance to shine and it will big time because I know that Sega will promote it very well to the mass media. I haven't given up yet, just impatient..

I'm wishful, not hopeful.
I used to be hopeful, but I've been let down enough times by Sega.
Around E3, I always get a glimmer of hope, but nothing too much, because I don't want being let down again to be as annoying as it was when I used to have lots of hopes and expectations from Sega.

I used to be very optimistic but the way Suzuki has been the past few interviews just saps all hope.

Just saw that the SOCOM creator is setting up a kickstarter to raise 200k.

Yu or someone that has a say in this really needs to get the kickstarter going.

Its pointless if he cant make the game (if Sege wont let him). I think Kenji asked him in his interview and he just said it was a possibility or something. No real interest vibe though

Not much hope. I still jump all over any bit of news regarding Shenmue comes out though. Though I wouldn't say it's impossible they create it. Just kinda sucks that SEGA holds the Shenmue license but won't even use it.
