So, what's the angriest you've ever gotten at Shenmue and Shenmue II?

Shenmue: I can't seem to recall any time I got annoyed with the first game besides the free battle with Chai at the end of the game. Damn, that shit was hard... Other than that, it was plain-sailing.

Shenmue II: Those planks. Those fucking, fucking planks!

It's hard to be angry over something that Shenmue does. I would say that I was annoyed at times, like when falling off the often mentioned planks or losing against Dou Niu the first time playing the game.

I can also throw in the endings of both games. They left me with a void and made me slightly angry as I wanted to continue. I wanted to beat up Lan Di's ass and I wanted to know what's going on in that damn cave just sooo much. I think Shenmue was actually worse in that regard after my first playthrough.

I don't think I've ever gotten angry at Shenmue. I was and still annoyed at the forklift racing and job, the crate job, the planks, and the ending of Shenmue 2 if the story doesn't continue.

Shenmue II: Disc 1. That fucking black screen error when going to the Rooftop Fight area. And Shenmue 2X's sky blue screen error. Pissed me off to no end. The only disc cleaner's a bus away n to make matters worse it was pissin it down.

I can't really remember losing my temper or anything while playing Shenmue but I vividly remember the first time I played through 2 and there was the scene where you finally see Lan Di for the first time since he killed Iwao. I was playing the game and then saw the helicopter fly up with Lan Di hanging from the ladder. It really made me burn inside seeing him there after spending a game and a half searching for him. It was a very "I want you now!!" moment. There was that very tense stare down between the two but while Ryo was mentally killing Lan Di I'm sure Lan Di was thinking "Who's that guy?"

But I guess you could say the street fighters were annoying. I've never been good at fighting games but I limped my way through the fights.

How could I forgett the Lucky Hit board on Dragon Street?
That stupid thing is the single most aggravating part of both games. I've still never won one of the move scrolls and I tried it a LOT. If only it was just the board with the scroll. The two boards you have to play on before that push the crap factor over the top!

I got pretty angry on the umpteenth time I had to drive a forklift for a job at work with zero story progression happening (ground hog forklift bug). So angry that I stopped playing it. And I regrettably still haven't picked it up again since..

Nothing annoyed/angered me in the first Shenmue. That game is flawless imo.

But II on the other hand has a handful of annoyances. The stupid crate moving, catching leaves(that took me a while to get down for some reason), watching the Lucky Hit stand, the game is easy. But it's boring as fuck having to make money that way. And of course those god damn planks. Also starting with 0 dollars on Shenmue IIx just sucks major ass.
I really do not enjoy that game nearly as much as the first one.
