Shenmue 3 music ?

Hello

I think most of you agree that music in Shenmue series has always an amazing feature in the game. I hope they include a little segment in the budget for composing special tones but thats seems doubtful. Is their any indications that the music crew for Shenmue 1 or 2 will return if funded is completed??

A prolific composer and performer, Ryuji Iuchi wrote many songs for Shenmue 1 & 2 including "Shenhua's Theme." His long list of work includes composition and arrangement for albums, movies, TV programs, concerts and events. Among his video game credits are Exstetra and Spectral Force Legacy.

This is what I was asking myself too, so I asked Iuchi-san on Facebook:


Me:[...]Wow, still can't believe! Will you compose original music for Shenmue III as well?

Ryuji Iuchi: I think so too maybe,yes.SEGA has all copyrights of shenmue1/2 musics.

Me: Glad to read that! I wish that everything turns out great! I know that you will make new masterpieces!!

So yeah, while Iuchi-san composed the Shenhua's Theme and it's amazing news that he's back, there is also Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, Shenmue's Main Theme composer! But knowing how he's still involved in projects at Sega, he actually is a Sega employee as far as I know, I'd be surprised if they manage to hire/make him compose the music for Shenmue 3 as well. But hey, today shows that nothing's impossible!

I get the feeling Sega has gotta be one of these conditional backers that everyone keeps talking about; I can't imagine seeing a Shenmue game released without the Sega name on it, just the same as I couldn't imagine a Sonic or Jet Set game that way.
I'm sure they'll end up with full ability to use the original music, and along with that, further official Sega talent has gotta be a probability.
