Ok here's the deal. Let's get this out of the way first. I'm not a troll. I'm a Lurker and the announcement more or less pushed me into registration.

Here's the situation.

I have already pledged 300 bucks to the kickstarter. My fiance however is extremely wealthy. Not getting into specifics but she is worth millions. I really want to ask for her help. Yet I have no idea how to even begin to explain the importance of this series to her. I'm afraid I'll get "it's just a video game" answer. What the hell do I do? Should I try lucky hit or what? Don't get your hopes up for a million dollar donation but she has helped me in the past with paying off debts. So I need advice.

Explain how much the series means to you and many others. Though in your case, I'd try and sort out a deal for some kind of reward from YS Net if we're talking megabucks, something your fiance can appreciate, maybe even a ROI? That kind of money might be better suited outside of the Kickstarter.

Don't hit up Kickstarter with that kind of money. Try not to plea through emotion, either. Try to cater to her logically.

Tell her it's a long shot but you want to invest in something that's special to you. Tell her why it's special, but more than that, tell her It may be a video game but 1. it smashed records and broke Kickstarter's website, getting over 2 million dollars in donations within an absurdly ridiculous less than 12 hours. 2. Tell her that if the two of your offer YS Net 500k or so dollars for the development, You may may have some swing and maybe even get a return if the game sells well. Given the Kickstarter records, it very well may. It's a gamble, but one you're willing to try, and you need her help to achieve it.

I can see why you'd ask a crowd of people how to best communicate with your own fiancé, but I genuinely can't help with that. Come back when you need to know how to make her squeal. Doubt she's changed much in a fortnight.

I think being honest is the best recourse so I would just talk to her honestly about how much it means to you that this project get a lot of funds. If you're going to donate an incredible amount I would try to get in touch with either Suzuki san himself or Cedric Buscay who speaks English. Suzuki san might even meet with you in person to thank you. lol
