Now just imagine some backer's smug face on that board as you try over and over again to get it?

No deal.

They really need a real lucky hit board, more affordable tier levels like the boat one.

Maybe they can add more men , character encounters as well. That one also sold pretty well.

This been bugging me but what does '50 Lucky Hit Tickets/20 Capsule Toy Tickets' even refer to? I mean, didn't we used to use money?

As for the Lucky Hit reward, every backer should just use a good looking woman's face, I think we can all accept that! :beerchug:

Yeah, it probably just means that you will receive in-game tickets to redeem those. I'm sure money will still be the main currency and used for Lucky Hit and Capsule Toys. It's just a standard pre-order bonus.

Jackie, it costs money to produce a physical board and ship it.

It costs nothing to stick someone's face on a virtual board.

But they do need to drop the price a thousand or so if they want some pledges.

Oh yea, just noticed that they added the I Am Shenmue 3 reward to it aswell, so if all 15 were bought, there'd be 79 faces in Choubu...starting to sound like a lot of faces lol.

Yeah, some people don't seem to get this. I know some people think all this kind of thing is "gimmicky" and that physical rewards are better (my wife is one of those people), but physical rewards mean a large amount of the funding goes on the physical items and shipping them, instead of the development costs. "Gimmicky" rewards like this cost the team very little, yet people want to pay high prices for them. The fact 64 people have each pledged $1,500 to have their face and name in the game is great and the team don't have to worry about manufacturing costs and shipping the items.

Still, I have no idea why the Lucky Hit Board is 4,000....

Still no backers! Might as well remove the reward and add 15 more to the I Am Shenmue reward...

I have half the mind to back it and just refuse to submit a photo, and instead submit my own art. If they don't like it, they can refuse, and that would be fine, but then it might impress them and they could decide to include it.

I hope no one backs it, I feel it dosent fit the taste of Shenmue, If it was $5k and your face on the NPC stood next to the lucky hit board I guess it would be better, but I dont know if the complication is from the 3D imaging face scan technique they have to use to apply it to a model.

A better one would be $4k a miniature desktop real life lucky hit board replica from shenmue 2

A full size one would cost too much and shipping would increase

Submitting your own art with the discretion of the art director is cool, but may lead to problems later on if you cant agree on what to submit and you want your $4k back...
the fact no one is going for it shows they need to change it as there is no interest as is.

Eh, I think it would fine and I bet any money it would be hidden fairly well and would be sort of an Easter Egg. It's not like it would be plastered on every Lucky Hit board in the game... I also doubt the team would make it look stupid. I'm sure they would integrate the design well into the game.

I have a sneaking suspicion they won't care what you send them. Face, artwork, cat, dog. It's all the same. They added the "I Am Shenmue" reward to the Lucky Hit tier, btw.

Still no backers and I think it's still too expensive. Maybe at $2,500 someone will bite or don't bother and remove the reward.
