You wouldn't really be able to play anything besides Lucky Hit and Excite QTE, and even those would be tough.

I collect Dreamcast games, and still buy every one that comes out (yes, DC games still get made occasionally). So in an ideal world, I would have loved to see Shenmue 3 on dreamcast. Unfortunately, that would have made it impossible for it to be a financial success, so realistically, I much prefer to see it on a console where most people are going to be able to obtain it easily.

However, I will also say that, unless the remakes come out and they allow file transfer to Shenmue 3, I will never feel like it truly is the sequel to Shenmue 2. I never play either Shenmue games on their own, but always start from Shemue 1 and continue until the end of Shenmue 2 with the same save. If I don't get to do this with Shenmue Hd remakes and Shenmue 3, I will be very disappointed. I'm still going to like it, but it's always going to be missing a big part of what I liked so much about the series (the feeling of continuity between the games).

Why did they not choose to make the game for the Dreamcast anyway. Yu wants the latest game mechanics using Unreal Engine 4 so fair enough but it was a clear option which was refused so shame on some of us. A PS4 version is without a doubt, acceptable. I would have loved a Dreamcast version and for some reason I feel like part of it is lost due this. Good effort.

Put yourself in the developers shoes. I'm sure no one of them find this idea exciting at all, not even Kid Nocon. Making a game on mobile or a very limited hardware is a motivation killer.

I don't care if SIII has DC graphics, but let's don't be religious.

I don't care about graphics (shen graphics were awesome), but there's no sense in alienating people that cant get a DC.

Shenmue (for me), it's not just a game, it's what I though games could be. And I still thank them for that (less than a year for the first chapter of my game, hopefully).

It would be incredibly interesting to Dreamcast fanatics and nostalgiaholics, and incredibly dumb to pretty much everyone else.

DC prices would probably go up too, so even less people would play it. I'd much rather play a game made on today's consoles which are much less limited and see what Yu can come up with their power.
