My name in the credits will be "SIV is real 2401"

I figure if no more Shenmue games come out this will be a cool easter egg.

/\

mabe all members could add "dojo" to their credits screen name so they can be identified as shenmuedojo members? ie adam.adam_dojo

or we could add "dojo" to the start of our names so were all listed together?

IGN, today:

"Bloodstained is Kickstarter's highest funded game ever, having reached its funding goal in under four hours after its campaign launched."

^ I don't get it? The score of 78 is pretty damn close to the game's average score of 82 on metacritic.com.. I don't know what "too much water" is about, but reading the review would probably clear that up?

EDIT: Okay, wait, no, "too much water" is pretty fucking funny actually.

EDIT 2: So.. nobody's doing anything about it? I kinda hoped somebody would complain to IGN so they'd correct it. Can't be arsed myself either though.

Lest we forget about their pitiful review of Double Dragon Neon, which was written by someone who dislikes the beat 'em up genre as a whole and pretty much flat-out misrepresented the game thanks to their own incompetency, the latter of which is something IGN are particularly adept.

IGN's God Hand review is still the single worst piece of video game journalism ever, which is saying a lot. I wonder how many sales God Hand (a masterpiece) lost because of that garbage.

Oh well. At least no-one reads games journalism any more.

Haha.

Well, God Hand's not too impressive metascore of 73 kinda indicates that you're exaggerating just as much as they are. :P

EDIT: Almost as much.

No, he is right.

GodHand is a masterpiece and the epitome of it's genre (Beat 'em up).

I regularly text my roommate from college now since the announcement of Shenmue III. He was the only fan I ever met locally, we became fast friends in the dorm, sharing many of the same gaming preferences(even a preference for game soundtracks)

We lost touch for over a decade almost after college, as most friends do as they go onward in their lives. We still had fleeting messages about our hope every year for the announcement at the various E3s, but it was not to be for us each year...until 2015.

We regained touch and earnestly followed and continued to follow all the news after the announcement to this day. In Shenmues announcement, I regained touch with one of my closest friends. We plan to meet up, despite being over 3 hours apart to play through it together.

Just re-read the original Shenmue III announcement thread and it was wistful reading it again.

Interestingly, the Japanese version of the IGN article has it correct: "Bloodstained is Kickstarter's second-highest funded game project."
