I guess after all these years, SEGA must have already acknowledged Shenmue's fanbase well enough. Wuth Shenmue 3 coming, it would be just logical to release Shenmue HD. The only problem is the legal stuff. As we know, SEGA is sturggling with copyright business for various things regarding the first two games.

The latest edition of this just came out and they acknowledged what we knew - they are looking into it and there are various licensing issues that need to be worked out.

I'm excited, really happy to hear that they are enthusiastic about making this happen! I'm sure they will persist and find a way to make it happen for us! If Capcom managed to bring Tatsunoko characters in the west anything is possible! I do wonder if though if there are complications regarding the engine license, as surely they could replace things like the Timex watches etc.

Nice to be the comment picked about the series :) Fairly pleased with the answer anyways, atleast it is in their thoughts! Something like Shenmue would be better announced at something like E3 rather than on Sega Europes youtube channel anyways, so in a way expected them to be cagey still, they're not gonna use that medium to reveal the game :)

^They will cancel it and after some years they will introduce Shenmue Online HD and also cancel that to announce Shenmue Gai HD remaster for PS6 to cancel that aswell and finally after all those years all the copyright issues are gone entirely and SEGA will give us a port of Shenmue One on a bad emulator and that's it.

Or they take their time (2years maybe) to give us the perfect Remaster.
