Kickstarter Update #61: Halloween Greetings

With Halloween upon us, it is time to get into the spirit, so…



And yes, that is a Kenji Miyawaki original!

But one person who will not be going out to do trick-or-treat this year is this man.



Yu-san has been hard at work to bring us the biggest treat of all, and now he has begun the momentous undertaking that is the signed rewards! Everyday Yu-san has been putting his signature to the Kenji Miyawaki illustrations, and thanks to your gracious and sincerely appreciated support, the number of illustrations to be signed is reaching the 5,000 mark!

Maybe next year Yu-san will be able to go trick-or-treating in his Ryo costume…

Do you think they will release the speculated trailer in next update or they will wait until psx event? If I remember correctly, Playstation Experience will take place on 3 and 4 of december.

I don't think they'll mention it in the November update, but I reckon we might get two updates in December. An update going out just after PSX showing off whatever was shown there and a regular progress update at the end of December.

So Yu is sitting at his desk, jacket on, signing one single poster, with the other 4999 nowhere to be seen. Seems legit and totally not staged! :p

It's a pile of illustrations actually. They initially planned to post the same picture but with some illustrations already signed at his right but they finally choose this one, I don't know why.

I can see this being the case, with perhaps an image of some kind. A folder for a November update has already been added to the directory, but that seems to be an automatic thing.

This artwork is a nice little treat. It's really rather un-Shenmue but that's what makes it so funny and Shenhua is super cute. Well, at least seeing Chai wearing a pumpkin is not too odd. He'd be crazy enough to run around the game in an outfit like that.

Kind of weird non-update for this month. Kind of adorable nevertheless.

What illustration is this? Are those the artbooks curated by Yu or is this something different?

Certainly an odd update, not that I mind or am surprised. Don't want to tip the hand ahead of the big reveal in about a month. I'm hoping these updates hold substantially more content following the big public reveal at Playstation Experience.

I love that Shenmue III keeps having these types of updates. I don't want to know anything really about the game (feel like I know too much already), so just keep giving me fun little things like this and I'll be happy.

I can understand some people that would like to see some pics or a trailer, but man, they are always whining in every update, they don't understand that making a game,especially a game like Shenmue, takes time. Besides, in order to make more impact they can't release a trailer until they have everything more improved.

Having said this, can´t wait to watch the trailer in next update!
