I'm still interested, but I haven't been hyped in a solid year. I save my hype for when I'm given a reason to by hyped. Once we emerge from the content lull that is development I will likely go back into full blown hype.

Considering t's been over a year and a half since the announcement nearly a year since seeing anything substantial my excitement is not what it once was.

Im sure that will change soon when the trailer finally comes out.

Of course i am, but i force myself to not think about it or watch any Shenmue video, or else the wait would feel unbearable.

What if in the Kickstarter update Yu Suzuki came clean and admitted that they haven't made any progress on the game since last summer?

Absolutely.

We never know what to expect, which is part of the fun.

Crossing my fingers Yu comes through on his comments on wanting to show new footage early this year, but I don't expect he meant January when saying that.

I'm really hyped and my expectations are sky high like the previous shenmues justifie. also I'm VERY happy they won't rush the game to end in shenmue 3. I rather not have an end to the story and a very good shenmue 3, then a Rushed one

I absolutely agree with you. Definitely don't want a rushed ending. It should feel satisfying and not unpleasant. Like, there could have been a lot more we were missing out on or it just didn't feel 'right'.

Not sure if hype is the word but sometimes its best to lay low so announcements slap you in the face . That's kind of how I am at the moment, I tried to avoid learning too much new info to have the first time impact when playing the game but i get warm and fuzzy during new kickstarter announcements each month

one question i have is that given the game has 70k backers, why aren't the forums busier? i suppose its because of the lack of any real news.
i imagine things will get pretty crazy whenever the first trailer arrives.

Most people who are fans of something draw the line at posting on dedicated Internet forums. I'm a fan of Yakuza, Ace Attorney, Red Dwarf and Deadwood, and would contribute to official Kickstarter projects of theirs if they were needed, but I'm not active in any of their online communities.
