Shenmue 3 & E3 2017 - UPDATE - Confirmed will NOT be at E3

I hope we don't see a really meaty update before E3, that would kill my hopes a little bit for a big re-reveal on stage.

I'm actually hopeful even for the HD versions, just not hyped (something I consider a more active investment).

Part of Gio's role in Third Party Productions is assisting and helping review on development milestones. He's absolutely there to see Shenmue III and talk further strategy and plans, and the timing of the Japan trip is definitely to see which of their partners are in a position to show at E3 or not, but whether that means Shenmue III is, is another matter.

Aside from the roller coaster-like range of emotions that come from trying to figure out if each tweet is some kind of clue to what's in store... my impression of the photo is that Gio Corsi and Yu Suzuki appear at ease and genuinely happy. So Shenmue III is in a fine state no matter what happens with E3.

One thing about the photo is that the remakes are probably out of the hand of YS and being managed by sega (and probably the actual developer and investors).

I don't know what that is or who he is.

They were responsible for the Oddworld series in HD (Stranger's Wrath HD, Munch's Odyssey HD etc). Probably one of the companies working on Shenmue HD (normally these kind of HD projects get worked over by more than one company, some work contracted out). Either that, or he just knows that Bluepoint are doing it or somebody else is. Either way, this is happening.
