New Ryo & Shenhua models from press release

I just saw the picture and looked on google for an higher resolution version.
Not really impressed by the characters yet, but absolutely 200% stunned by the background , which I value more between the two tbh.

On the subject of the environment, and this may have been covered already amongst the character model talk, but the poster from the press release and the image on the Deep Silver website have loads of differences.

The angles are slightly different, and the poster is sharper/higher resolution, but also there are significant improvements in detail, texturing, differences in light sources, foliage, the stairs are totally different, the boat at the harbour looks different, the poster has a small riverboat/gondola in the water, the reflections are different, etc, etc, etc.

It's... pretty clear the environment part of the images are from two different builds.

But in my eyes, not giving accurate feedback is far worse. As a backer, I will contribute with my views in all outlets available to me including in person if necessary because I own that to the team making the game. They can't improve something if they think it's perfect.

I'd love to see that conversation. At what point when you were backing the project did you think you had any say in it? That you were a consultant? An artist? A storywriter? An editor? A musician? A marketing manager? A promotional supervisor?

What did you give your money for? Because it was absolutely crystal clear as day and night that you were a backer. The game provided will be of his creation. You backed that on the knowledge you had at that point in time, based on his previous works and, guess what, his previous works were not created WITH YOUR INPUT!


Honest question, how much younger than Yu Suzuki are you? How much more technical, professional, or life experience do you have than Yu Suzuki. Please answer me that question.

I don't know, Germany? Hopefully you don't interrupt a possible meet up with YS to say I'm not a consultant.

How old am I? Old enough to understand software needs feedback and to see when someone is being emotional and not logical. YS can put my opinion in the trash bin if he wants to but the team seems to be open to criticism.

Agreed but they must make sure that Ryo looks like he did in SO(preferably that is, I would be perfectly fine with Shenmue and Shenmue II Ryo and also the box art of Shenmue Ryo). Shenhua must look like the other image I posted. While it certainly won't be game breaking, it will add to the experience tenfold when you can actually recognise them and see that they look like they're supposed to.

Wow!! Nice spot! Ryo is very tiny compared to the place! there must be kilometers to walk in there towards the others buildings to the right!

I'm dreaming about a big fight in there with lots of enemies all over the great wall.

I'm eager to see the new vids, I'm sure we'll all be jaw dropped when we see these marvelous places full of inhabitans in movement.
