Magic Monaco 2018 details and new Shenmue III screenshots

So, they showed an extended video of the old Gamescom 2017 trailer, including some QTE and that looked... painful.
I think this is what was shown to the media behind closed doors back then, it is outdated so why are they showing it now ????

Because they don't have "any new stuff" to show us?

They really need to announce a delay sooner than later. It’s dishonest not to. They’ve shown zero gameplay, are reusing an old trailer and I doubt they’ve even cast voices yet. There’s no chance this is anywhere near release.

I'm sorry. I love this series, but this is getting absolutely unacceptable. Announced in 2015, nothing shown at all for gameplay in THREE years, still WIP character models and in 2018 they are showing a trailer 6 months old or more??

I'll hold out until E3 and pray for a turnaround and to be floored. If it's a no show, then I'm asking for my $500 back. This is turning into a disaster. I don't want to hear defense of it--at this point the "it's still developing, just wait and see" argument doesn't work anymore.

Now we know the reason why they kept the extended version of the Gamescom trailer. It was showcased as a PS4 game, but it contains QTE secuences with Xbox 360 controller layout.

Anyway, why do they show that?, it is fucking ugly. Same mistake again? Honestly...

Whilst I feel for Yu worrying that fans are getting impatient and I wouldn't want a fan backlash or for people to whip out the pitchforks, I don't think the problem is we can't wait. I would be fine if the game needed further delays. I'd be fine if it didn't come out until the end of 2019 if that's what the game needed.

It just feels like progress is slow and that there has been a slight lack of transparency. I mean, really, it's been nearly 3 years and we just have arty screenshots. Not gameplay screenshots, but 'photoshopped' art shots. I just feel, as it's a Kickstarter, it would be better if they showed off more. It kinda added insult to injury when there wasn't an update in months at the end of the last year and then they finally provided an update to say there won't be many updates from now on. I mean, really?

How hard is it to just do a quick video of Ryo walking around a village, talking to people and showing off the menu interface (if there is one yet?). All they have to do is make it clear it's all a work in progress and subject to change, yada yada.

Anyone noticed how the QTEs had that "Slo-mo" effect before the button press like in Yakuza? As someone who enjoyed the snappy nature of Shenmue's QTEs, this just looks terrible.

Here is the deal:

1. They announced the shenmue-3-event at monaco five weeks ago with three new pics.
2. Two days later, they promoted the event with an kickstarter-update
3. Another kickstarter-update about the magic event in monaco was teased, but did not make it.
4. After four weeks, we got a senthless Yu-Suzuki-Interview and four pics.

Question: If they don´t want to show us anything today, why did they do the Shenmue-Pressconference today? I still don't get it ...

I also lost "my hope" to get a good Shenmue-3-Game around Christmas 2018 today. I'm very disappointed as a fan!!!

This is true, and maybe not, but I promise you that I'm probably not the only one who is precariously close to voicing their displeasure over the state of this project.

This is ridiculous--even Spaghetti is questioning why this was the footage shown. Dodging of release dates, old footage, static screenshots in the same locations slightly improved and whether or not they are direct or doctored is up for debate.

At this juncture, we've seen more and obtained more details of Final Fantasy VII Remake and it went back to in-house development from CC2.

I’m not worried about the quality, but I think they need to start upping their transparency about where they are in their development. The Kickstarter component is making it vital. If this were just some game being developed privately with private funds, I’d feel differently. We’re nearly three years in and are being given some cinematic screenshots and an old trailer that shows no actual gameplay. Something is up...
