I read my email history and it's the first time they talk about Magic 2018. In addition, I knew that Yu Suzuki will be there but I was not sure whether there would be a conference so I do appreciate the clarification.

The new model is astoundingly better, even to my wife who doesn't share my love of a series she never knew, but was understanding of it enough to allow a sizeable backer donation. That was also my opinion... until I learnt that the new logo was designed by Yu Suzuki himself (and his father for the Japanese one). It just sounds that Yu wants to take a new departure with his very own franchise.
