NEWS!

I finally made it.

UVW mapping. And fuck tutorial. I learnt by myself hahaha.

I finally made a unique texture for all Ryo's model. There are actually 2 problems but first, take a look:

And finally, my 2 problems:

1st: I have to convert textures to GIF to keep alpha mask in the model. Final Fantasy softwares only works with GIF and BMP. The problem with BMP is that if I use it, I lose the alpha mask too. If anybody's able to make a bmp that keeps tranparencies... I'd be very pleased.

2nd: Alpha mask seems to be not compatible with FFVII so Ryo's hair is very bugged in passport and in-game versions. I need one of them. Please, can you guys, make the choice for me? I don't really know witch one I can choice.

After 3 shutdowns of the software to unify the model, I finally swapped the battle model. I don't know why but I lost the weapons textures. I'll find the problem.

Next updates:

- Millenia's katana (the one I use for GTA San Andreas) instead of Buster sword.
- I'd like to rename "buster Sword" for "Hazuki's sword".

New updates.

Actually I'm trying to find how to open VOB files to put the forklift into the game. Or I'll maybe go to a simple motorcycle swap.
But anyway, I've swapped all Ryo's versions lol. I'm re-playing the game to be sure there are no crashes and all models are placed correctly.

I'm actually thinking about the next Ryo's convertion. I think that I can make a mod for the fan game Avalanche (FFVII fighting game).

Oh, and this mod can be shared. As I always say; I'm not interested to keep them for my exclusive use. So if anybody wants to give a try, just ask me.

Last point: I always repeat that this awesome katana's model is not made by me. It's from a modder called Millenia. Hazuki crest texture is picked from a wallpaper of Ricardo.

Mushroom Kingdom Fusion MOD: Ryo Hazuki

Hiya again! Haha!

I recently seen that game. When I was a child I used to play a lot with platform games. Specially Sonic, Megaman, some Marios, Contra blahblahblah...

Did you guys knew this fan game? I just downloaded it and it seems preety funny.

Mushroom Kingdom Fusion is some kind of crossover fan game with different platform heroes in a Super Mario World. I just tried Zero from Megaman-X series and, in my opinion, Ryo could fit with his style.

So, actually I'm finishing the mod of Final Fantasy VII. Just one model left (Ryo in Chocobo Races) but I'm planning to make the sprites of Ryo Hazuki in this fan game and see the results.

My first try in a few minutes. I'll make a better palette for his jacket :P

I'm back at home now. And very pleased with the interview but it was so short! We only could ask him 3 questions! And I got my sealed Shenmue and the artbook signed by him.

I'm a little sorry with the forum and I wanna say sorry 'cause of my nerves. I was so nervous that I forgot my camera in the car :lol:
Anyway, el_clown was there and he will post interesting things very soon.

A japanese woman has translated to japanese/spanish. Marvelous and perfect work. She was pretty skilled.

The japanese admits to Gamereactor that he will focus on the AI to make it better. There wont be 11 chapters and that they are investigating about crownfunding. A message to the spanish fans.

Yu Suzuki has said that all fans he found in Gamelab asked him for Shenmue III.

"I've made the story of Shenmue 1 and 2 but I've prepared to Shenmue 11 (11chapters). If I wanna continue the game, it would take too much time because there still remains 9 chapters. So I think I'll have to change the game's structure changing it to 2 or 3 parts".

And now, speaking about the crowdfunding. Suzuki said:

"It's posible that we chose crowdfunding, but now we're in a research phase. I had the opportunity to have dinner with Inafune-san and we were speaking about it".

And he finally say thanks for the spanish fans support. This part has already been translated.

Anyway if I forgot my camera, el_clown has a lot of material. We just have to wait a little but I promise he made a real good effort to make all fan having the feeling of staying in the conference.

I was sooooo nervous when he appeared, lol. That never happened to me. A funny thing happened when he signed my games is that most of people brought normal Shenmues or even manuals or game's boxes. When I gave my sealed games to Suzuki-san, he changed his face and it seems he was surprised to see it. Maybe he thought I was crazy or something like that.

It's not even a case of getting refunded, money's only taken out if and when it hits/exceeds it's goal. Personally though, I don't want them to jump straight into Shenmue III. At this point, not even HD remakes make sense. It has to be a reboot if everyone wants to see it succeed. If all that's wanted is the games themselves for closure, then so be it, but I want to see Shenmue become a fully-fledged franchise.

Then again I'm possibly the only person on the planet that was gutted Shenmue Online fizzled out.

No, you're not the only. One more here.

Shenmue Online could be the perfect game to play between chapters release. For example, imagine Shenmue III appeared. And then, a few month later, Shenmue Online having Yokosuka, HK, Kowloon and Guilin as initial playable maps. Then, when Shenmue IV appears, they could release a big update to the MMO with new chapter maps, new enemies, level map upgraded and more news to repeat the process 'til the end of the game.

Shenmue Online could be a side story linked to the original games sharing this side story with the original one. Playing as our own character in side quests related also to the Chi You Men and finding the main characters during the playthrought.

WIP: Ryo Hazuki mod for Sonic Generations (V1 released)

It's been a long time since I wanted to try it. I never could make this 'cause I was always thinking this game is too much for my computer. But I was wrong. I have a good performance at 720p so I said "hey! Why not now?". I got all necesary tools todays and I supose I'll start the beta and 1st try this weekend or monday. Let's pray it works [-o<

What did you do to obtain the High poly model of Ryo? I cant rip it from the passport disc, only half the geometry. :-k

Rayld ripped it. But I only used this model for FFVII because in GTA, alpha mask are buggy and normal model is better. Modern games like Sonic Generation wont have this problem ^_^

Ryo's also in Left 4 Dead 2 but it's not mine.

Another video.

I have changed the anims. Ryo actually is not a chibi or deformed model like Sonic so running animations does not fit him at all. Now Ryo is able to FLY :mrgreen:

About the videos. I'm sorry for the bad quality but my computer can actually run the game at 30FPS. The problem is FRAPS. When I start it my frames goes to 7-15.

In the next video you'll see the riggin wich is actually poor. I'll fix it tomorrow. Another thing I noticed is that the game is not showing alpha mask on Ryo's hair but I know how to fix it too; I was trying to put opacity in the material's gallery of the game and the correct way is doing it directly on 3D Studio.

If anybody wants the mod I'll share it but actually it doesn't have the quality I wanted. I suggest you to wait a few more days.

Here we go!

All is "finished". I mean, I made the HUD, colors and picked the numbers from the game NIGHTS for the HUD. Just to make it different. Take a look:

The model is far from perfect but in my opinion that's not bad at all. I think I can make a better rigging... Just in case I can find a way to move the bones to adapt them to Ryo's model. If I can realize that, the model will be A LOT better than this one. Sorry again for the poor frame rate in the video.

Anyway, here's the download link. To play with it, download the program SONICGMI, create a folder in main game's directory, name it as "mod" and paste Ryo's file inside. Launch SonicGMI and mark the mod you want. Then press "save and play".

And last thing. This mod is not tested with Super Sonic. I haven't made his Super Form yet. Just made a copy/paste model. I'll change this in a few days.

Have you tried using the material editor?

Just drag a texture to the material editor (press M to open it). Select the texture and go to MAP, pick OPACITY. A menu will open. Select the BITMAP option and look for the same file. Click OPEN. Then scroll the menu and select alpha.

If you don't find how to do it I can explain it using pictures.

Console modding is close to imposible haha. I'm surprised that Shenmue can be modded like you do, for example. That show how skilled are the coders that made the tools for modding.

You have FF7 with bootleg? This mod works perefectly with old version.

I have never uploaded this mod since I don't was asked to make it but I'll locate the model files and upload them. You guys will have to manually install them using a soft called alii's lgp/unlgp.

Hi guys. Here are the files. Before installing this mod, please be sure to make backup of all the lgp files you're going to replace. There are more important points you need to know.

1- I put different lgp archives because in some of them, there are models for minigames of Cloud wich I changed. Some of them have only some MB of size so you only have to replace them.
2- I have never unpacked the big lgp files so I'm not sure if the mod will work. Tell me guys if you have errors in the battle maps, normal maps and world map.
3- To install the unpacked folders you need aali's lgp/unlgp. It can be found here with a tutorial.
