Seems like a stretch. There's no way Lan Di is Sunning Zhao's son.... why would he avenge the death of his father by killing Ryo's father? He would surely be against the killing of fathers.

I think Lan Di probably married to Sunming Zhao but Zhao had a love affair with Iwao. Lan Di probably killed Iwao in a jealous rage.

I played and finished the game a lot of years ago. I've finished the first part several times. I remembre the end of Shenmue 2 as the best "ending" of a videogame .
