I think the genre is fine, also the more genres which feature the Shenmue IP the better, I would assume. Thought to be honest, i've never played the game. I don't have a 3ds, but it doesn't look bad to me.

For all the part timer fans, i remember the days this would have been the biggest thing to happen for Shenmue since SASASR. Also causing another annual positive to be added to the avalanche of, "this is our year! Shenmue HD/Shenmue 3 has gotta be announced now!" chants.

Any exposure is great, regardless of Shenmue 3 or not. If it's a genre of game you don't like, fair enough. But seeing Ryo in another stand alone game is pretty epic for myself. Good job devs.

I bought Sonic Racing for sure.

But I don't see how not wanting to buy a game that Ryo guest stars in because I think it looks bad makes anyone a part timer fan, especially after they put over 100 dollars into the Kickstarter campaign.

But in any case, Ryo looks amazing in the game. I may still get it, because I haven't played an srpg in years, and it can't be too bad.

I wouldn't take it as negativity. We can have both. I'm really happy that Ryo is featured in another game. Shenmue and Shenmue fans deserve it. On the other hand, it doesn't look like the best game either. It's not so much negativity so much as it's nitpicking. We're spoiled these days, and it's hard to see that. A lot of us can't think back a year ago when we've had Shenmue III announced this year. At another point in time, it's true that people would be flipping their shit if Ryo were announced in another game, but that's exactly why they would want it to be a good game at this point too.

Yea that's the standpoint I am coming from. All positives. To be ignorantly honest, I've never heard of Proxect X, i have no idea who's making the game, what console it's on, if it's an eastern release only, what genre it is etc. Just seen a few pictures on Shenmue social media and just faintly glanced over this topic.

Just over the moon at the fact Ryo is in another game. End of story. It's great exposure and I can't thank the developers enough for putting him in the game.

I personally enjoyed the first game, especially as a throwback down the memory lane for growing up with most of the franchises featured in the game. It's definitely made for fans of Capcom, Namco, Sega & co.

My god the amount of good IPs in that. I saw Resonance of Fate characters and was like oh hell yeah. Yakuza, Shenmue, RE, SF, I knew most of those franchises. KOS-MOS from Xenosaga is in it, but shes fighting Mechonis from Xenoblade and one of the levels shes in is also from Xenoblade, KOS-MOS in Xenoblade? what??
